The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet Discuss the Kimkins Diet but They Don’t Warn You About “Banned Camp”!

The New Year always brings resolutions and for many this resolution usually contains the desire to lose weight, but at what cost? Not only the cost to one’s wallet but also the cost of one’s health. The FOX Morning Show with Mike and Juliet are re-airing a live show that focused on the fraudulent acts of Kimkins.com and the owner Heidi Diaz.
An internet search of Kimkins will now turn up many of the negative health effects of doing Kimkins .The blog of Kimkins Survivors shares over 100 stories of ex-kimkin members who suffered ill effects from following the WOE that Kimmer promotes on her site. But something that is not discussed as much is the banning of members with no refunds.

This point has not been talked about as often, because to many, this was not the biggest problem. I mean you can always earn another $60.oo bucks, but who is going to give you a new thyroid or heart? So the priorities have of course been – “Let’s spread the word of the health risks of doing Kimkins”, not the financial risks. But I thought now was a good time to focus on the other risk of Kimkins…………………… The dreaded Banned Camp!

Kimmer and her admins took it upon themselves to ban members at their leisure and randomly. Some even based on their avatars! No, not a joke. If you are thinking surely this gal is fibbing. Well, first I would say- You would have to be a southern to say the word fibbing. Second, I would say, NO I am telling you the truth. In fact- I will just let the words of the owner, Kimmer and her admins, demonstrate my point.

The following are quotes from the blog The TRUTH, who posted private messages that were routed to him/her by an inside source. Visit their blog for the full inside look but here are some of the quoted pm’s of the Kimkins staff.

From the owner of Kimkins-

Kimmer Wrote:

As you’ve probably read in forums I don’t like negativity threads. Not that there’s anything wrong with venting, but their tone spreads quickly and distracts from the work we’re doing here

From the PR director of Kimkins-

Re:Handling Forum Posts/Questions
I agree. The time we are spending hunting out the nay sayers is time we could have spent helping people. If any of you admins see negative posting, by all means delete it even if you have to delete the entire thread. And report the person who posted the offense to Kimmer right away, please. We are going to start banning with no refund. Because we are a paid site, I doubt too many will pay $ to come back just to cause trouble. Thanks again, everyone. This too shall pass…

Some of the members that were being banned were longtime members and had not signed up to “cause trouble”. The members being banned were looking for help losing weight just like many people and paid good money for their “lifetime membership”! They were then banned with no warning and no support system to continue to help in their weight loss journey. Their consumer rights were violated. My consumer rights were violated!

From an admin in the same chain of pm’s from above-

Something I felt i should make a note on…..is we should pay attention to questions in certain areas right now. Primarily questions in the fields the other sites are trying to claim as a negative of this plan right now…..such as calories, laxitives, children and the like. I do read the other stuff occassionally, I am not affected by it, but like to just keep tabs a bit on what is going on.

So now the admin is suggesting banning based on a members words on another site! That is right folks- For the low price of $59.95 you can have spybots put on your computer and have the admin monitor your postings on the internet. Then they will ban you based on your posting habits elsewhere. See how easy you can become a member of the Banned Camp too?!?!?

Kimmer Wrote:

Wanted to update you on the “ban” function. Thankfully we’ve only had a couple instances.
Tech guys modified “ban” so it’s only a ban from forums, chat & PMs. They still have full access to the rest of the paid site including diet, food plans, grocery list, sample menus, recipe box & How ….. Does ….When placing the ban enter the date as “2025” for the year. Previously I was told 2099 and that’s rejected. Make the public note: TOS violation, make the private note whatever occurred and also let me know

Wow, they were banning so many members they had to update and modify the banning function. It would be funny if it wasn’t a sad fact, that Heidi Diaz/Kimmer made over 1.2 milllion dollars in her paypal account in one month alone, off the members she is now discussing and banning. This figure is based on the recent deposition documents that were released. Oh, that is right I haven’t mentioned the pending class action lawsuit in this post. If you haven’t joined the Kimkins lawsuit and were a member of Kimkins please sign-up.

So she took their money and then banned them. She even was trying to get around the legal aspect of what whether she was “banning” members by allowing access to a page showing the diet and grocery list. Anyone dieting knows that you learn the diet and how to do it after the first few weeks. It is the support you get from others that makes a difference and Kimmer, along with her minions, were snatching that away from the members faster than you can say SNATT!

SingingLass Wrote:

This is another one of those shady member situations…there is no direct Tos violation or proof of going on the other board, but every single post she has made has been suspicious and snarky/challenging in some wierd way. […..]..

Kimmer wrote:

I think I will temporarily ban her “accidentally”. It’s not the posts I’m worried about, it’s the PMs she might be sending. More dissention. Let me know about Honeybee too. I’ve noticed she’s on the edge.

SingingLass wrote:

:: nod nod:: I already am watching honeybee, trying to decide what the situation is there…….[………]…….Sometimes it just is not a black and white case though, thus why i make sure to run these situations by you first before getting trigger happy.

Kimmer wrote:

I’m naturally suspicious of anyone with a “duck” avatar.

Now you know how anyone can easily become a member of banned camp at Kimkins.com I hope that you also will still remember the health risks associated with this diet too.

Don’t risk your life or your wallet on the Kimkins diet!

  1. Thanks for getting the information out about Kimkins.com and the truth about Kimmer

  2. Great post. Who would believe that Kimmer and Kimkins care about people? It’s just about money.

  3. I was still editing the draft, but thanks for stopping by my blog.
    Happy New Year!

  4. Another excellent post, HoneyBee.

It is so important, especially at this time of year, to warn people desperate to lose weight of the dangers of signing up with any starvation diet plan.

There is a lot of money to be made on the Web these days by scammers, who have NO medical training, hawking these half-brained diets.

Thanks for raising the red flag about the deadly Kimkins diet and its founder Heidi Diaz/Kimmer.

  5. Great post! You do good work, Honey Bee!

Kimkins members may join the Kimkins lawsuit! Here is a video that explains how easy it is to join the Kimkins lawsuit.

  6. Hi Honeybee! Thanks for posting about the banning issue. I was banned for ToS violations…and when I asked why, I was given some BS about posting a link to a *negative site.* Sorry, it didn’t happen. My links were primarily to scientific studies or computer tools.

I think that what happened was that I kept telling people that they needed to eat more protein and more fat, and even more simply MORE FOOD. And Kimpire and the Admins didn’t like it. They also may have gotten snitty that I turned down an Admin post.

On the one hand, I’m glad to be out of that weird looking glass environment, but on the other, I’m still pissed that they banned a lifetime membership without specific reasons and when I asked for the specifics of my so-called violations, they just ignored me. *shrug* Caveat emptor, I guess.

    Keep up the great work.

  7. well your draft looked great HB sorry to jump the gun but as you know Kimkins.com
    and
Kimmer are not the answer to those folk looking to shed those unwanted pounds with a new yrs resolution for weight loss.
Next time put up a under construction sign so I know it ain’t ready for us please and I promise not to commnet before you are ready.

  8. Thanks for the comments guys!
Babe- thanks for linking the join the Kimkins Lawsuit video link.

Dryad- I got the same lie about TOS violation at Kimkins.com
    – after asking why someone was posting that their journal got deleted and then offering advice to a member saying she felt so depressed and sad-like she wanted to die. Kimmer
posted behind me “Excellent ideas, HoneyBee” and the next thing I know I am banned? So who knows why they ban people and that is what people looking at buying a membership need to remember too. Not only is Kimkins.com
a dangerous way of eating, but they also will take your money and ban you access.

2Big- You are welcomed anytime. I just hope you and Mariasol had on hard hats, since y’all may have encountered some falling, misspelled words, big holes- due to paragraph formatting and an occasional disgruntle font, earlier while I was in the “constructing” phase. lol

  9. wow. Never knew some of this stuff. Way to go with the reporting there HB.

    Antonio del Yucky

  10. aw shucks HB yiou know I graduated from TT U so I never even saw them
the important thing is for anybody who bought a membership in Kimkins.com from
Kimmer to go to http://kimkinslawsuit.wordpress.com/2007/11/15/download-the-affidavit-or-declaration-form/ and download the form, fill it out notarize their siggy and mail it back.

don’t let kimmer keep that $2,000,000+ of illgotten gains she defrauded you of.

  11. Get The Word Out…
I recently took up the cause to “get the word out” about Kimkins.com and the dangers of following this very low calorie diet. Don’t be fooled. Do your research! Kimkins.con is nothing more than a low fat, low carb, low calorie, unhealthy starvation diet that is causing Eating Disorders (EDs) and hair loss in many. This diet was started by a lady who calls herself “Kimmer” and never even lost the weight herself on her own diet. Kimmer even charges $59.95 for her unhealthy starvation diet and offers a “lifetime” membership that gets you banned from her website if you question her about her diet or after pictures. Friends don’t let friends do Kimkins!! Be smart in 2008 and lose weight the right and healthy way!

  12. Kimkins.com is nothing but a dangerous scam… stay away from ;Kimkins.com!!!!

  13. I’m personally happy in banned camp. It beats Kimkins Con-centration camp. Especially with that bargain $79.95. Support on the web can be found FREE.

  14. I hear ya avenue girl!
    Overview of Kimkins diet

    Thanks Honeybee!
